Deaf Festival

The concept for this series started as an idea to show the beauty in the motion of sign language. Originally, the faces of the subjects were not included. While working on the project, so much was learned about the Deaf community and the growing challenges. There were many details that I was unaware of within the culture.

Out of that excitement, we reached out to the local Deaf Resource Center to see about getting a booth and doing portraits with participants doing sign language to capture the motion.

It was such an uplifting experience. We met so many wonderful and friendly people.
